Project Education, Inc. (PEI) is a non-profit, grass roots organization dedicated to increasing the availability of education to impoverished students through parent participation and community development in Kenya.

PEI focuses on education and sustainability of the school providing quality education to impoverished children who otherwise would not have an opportunity to attend secondary school. The entire community benefits which brings new hope. Our programs foster pride in cultural heritage while creating effective new ways to address drought, health and economic issues. Our school has become a hub of self-sustaining community programs that educate and empower.

The school first opened in 2005 with 30 students and two teachers occuping one classroom along with termites and various other small critters. The blackboards were black paint on the walls and desks were tables with plastic stools but our students could not have been happier to have the opportunity for a secondary education! Today, the campus is full of activity with eight teachers and over 100 students. Our campus also includes a science lab, medical clinic, teacher and guest housing, two wells providing fresh water to the school and community and our first community economic development project. learn more…
